Thoughts on Joy

This has been a good week for the most part... God is really teaching me to be joyful in the moment of now. There is really never going to be a better time to be happy and take joy than right now. So many times in my life I have looked forward to the future saying to myself that when I reach a certain point everthing will be better and I will be able to take joy in life and really get started living my life for Jesus. The real question is, why not today? Paul wrote in his final remarks of his first letter to the Thessalonians that we should, "Be joyful always; pray continually and give thanks in all circumstance, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." (1 Thes 5:16-18) It can be difficult sometimes to find places in the Bible where it just comes right out and says what God's will is. It is clear from this that we should seek joy on a daily basis. For more on joy read James chapter one.
