Baptism

OK... I've got a question...

As a Christian, a person who has accepted Christ into their life and believes He died on a cross for the sins of the world and rose again three days later, is it essential to be baptized? I have several friends who have grown up in Christian homes yet they have never been baptized. Plus, I have other friends who have accepted Christ as an adult and never been baptized and they don't see why they should. I personally was baptized as a baby. However, I made the decision to be baptized again last summer. It was a personal choice. So... leave some comments and let me know what you all think.
