Going Home, Mo' Money and Wonderful FriendsI have a 4 day weekend this weekend and I am going home. A cousin of mine is getting married on Saturday so I will get to see a lot of my family which will be nice. Am I excited about going home, Yes. Am I homesick, No. I have only been in the Air Force for 6 weeks now but I really like it and I am looking forward being an officer for at least the next 4 years. I went to the finance office yesterday to ask some questions cause I thought I wasn't getting paid enough and low and behold they hadn't been paying me all I was supposed to get. Not that I deserve more but I'll definitely take it! They had left out 300 dollars out of each pay check so far. Which is a pretty significant amount. The only reason I caught was because a girl in my class had told me what her last paycheck was and it was 300 dollars more than mine and we should've been getting the same. Anyway... I will be getting my money. The weekend after I get back from the Labor Day break, two guys in my class have told me they want to go to church with me. Even though it is hard living amongst non-Christians it is rewarding and humbling at the same time when God uses me to reach them. I couldn't do it by myself. The encouragement I receive from friends and family at home is awesome. And the encouragement I receive from my new online friends is awesome too. I thank God everyday for the wonderful people He has put in my life to help me continue to live for Him. - footprints of Chad, 5:57 PM.:

BCOT, St. Augustine, Long Drives and Online DatingI have been in school now for a month. I am in block 5 of an 11 block process. Block 4 was the worst! The instructor we had for block for was ok and he got the point accross... it was just real dry and it seemed to drag on forever! But we tested out of Block 4 yesterday and started Block 5. I think Block 5 is going to be a little bit more fun... our instructor is a Major who is retiring in 140 days... he made that quite clear... and just wants to make sure we have fun and learn something at the same time! My trip to Florida last weekend was a good one! I got to my aunts in time for supper Friday night. It was good to see my mom and my aunt, uncle and cousin. Saturday me, my mom and my aunt all went to the beach in St. Augustine which was about a two hour trip. I hadn't been to a beach since I went to Brazil in '99. It was fun to swim in the ocean again. One of the nice things about going to Florida was getting out of Mississippi. I am not going to knock Mississippi because I don't like it when people knock Kansas and I have some readers from around here! However, I am going to say that, Mississippi, is not on the top of my list of places to live. At least not along the Gulf Coast. The drive to Gainseville was 6.5 hours. I put over 1,200 miles on my explorer over the weekend! I had lots of time to think and pray! It was some very good alone time. I did also call several different people. Which was great! I talked to my friend Dave whom I hadn't spoken too for nearly 3 months. His most exciting news was that he plans on going on staff with Campus Crusade come graduation in May! Praise God! He'll be working with Athletes in Action! I mentioned in an earlier post that I had met some really cool people on Christian Cafe. Michaela was the first person I actually chatted with and she is a great Christian gal. I really never thought much would come from the Cafe but a few really good friends and chatting buddies. But God is amazing... and I will be meeting one of the girls I met when I travel back to Kansas City in October. There is no telling what might happen but I am very excited to be meeting her. - footprints of Chad, 8:31 AM.:

Weird HoursSince I have been in school down here in Biloxi, I have been on some weird hours. My class doesn't start until 3:30 in the afternoon and gets out at 12:30 at night. It hasn't been to bad... but it is weird being in class all evening every day of the week. They have a morning class also that goes from 6 in the morning to 3 in the afternoon. They are pushing more people through the system this way. They started doing it like this in may because they were really getting behind on training. Anyway... class has been pretty boring for the mos part... even though i am learning lots... and just being in the Air Force environment every day is a learning experience... since i am so new at this. There are 13 people in my class and everyone is pretty cool. There is only one girl... Laura... poor gal... all she wanted was at least one other girl. She is very nice and gets along with all the guys just fine. The nice thing about the schedule I am on... I get every other Friday off! And today is that Friday! I am leaving for FLorida later on to go visit my Aunt and my Mom who is also in Florida right now visiting her sister(my aunt). - footprints of Chad, 4:29 AM.:

Christian CafeI found a pretty cool place on the web to meet some really nice people. It is called Christian Cafe. The neatest person I have met is Michaela... she is living in Ohio. Nice girl and I have had a real good time chatting with her lately. - footprints of Chad, 6:18 PM.:

Biloxi and David CooperfieldHello everyone. I have been in Biloxi, MS for about 3 weeks now. It is high time for an update. I have enjoyed being in the Air Force so far... the transisition has been quite easy. Anyway... since I have been down here I have been living in a Hotel room. It's not all that bad... it is a lot bigger than the dorm room I used to live in! It is a Holiday Inn... so everything is pretty nice. Last weekend I went to watcht the magic of David Cooperfield! It was great! There are several casinos up and down the gulf coast here where I am staying. Cooperfield had a show at the Beau Rivage. I have always been a fan of David Cooperfield. I have always thought some of his tricks were kinda corny but still the things he does are pretty amazing. This time at his show he "transported" himself to Hawaii. It was pretty convincing but everyone knows he really didn't. How he even made it convincing i'll never know.Anyway... the purpose of this site when I initially made it was to help keep people updated with my life while I am on my adventure in the Air Force... I have not done a very good job so far. I will make more of an effort to update the site on a more regualr basis. So, come back again... there will be more updates. I don't have a scanner with me so there probably won't be to many more photos. - footprints of Chad, 3:03 AM .:
