Short SummerThis summer is flying by. I was gone for nearly three weeks in June. My brother and his wife were here the for 2 1/2 weeks in July and now it is August already. Jen will be here on the fourth and leave on the 18th. Then I am off to the Olympics on the 25th for 6 days and summer will be over.I finally got to do quite a bit of traveling while Heath and Casey were here. We went all over the souther half of England. The craziest thing that happened while they were here was that we ran into my brothers old 4th grade teacher, Mr. Heim, in Salisbury Cathederal. The chances of that happening are about as close to zero as you can get. There are over 60 million people in this country and thousands upon thousands of tourists locations and we happened to be at the same thing, on the same day, in the same area of a huge cathedral. Just crazy. During the last week of June I helped at a track and field camp for the local American kids. A man named Ron Freeman was the head coach for the camp. He was a bronze medal winner in the 68 Olympics in the 400m dash and a gold medal winner in the 4x400m relay. His split time in the relay was the fastest split time ever for over 25 years. The coolest part is he gave me his email address and I am supposed to contact him before I go to Athens so we can hook up when we get down there. He wants to take me to the Olympic Village and introduce me to some of the athletes he knows. Hopefully everything pans out so that can actually happen. It would be a dream come true. Just going to Athens is a dream come true... but to get to meet some athletes... that would be awesome. That's all for now. I am sorry it's been so long since I updated this page. It's just been crazy busy here for the last month. I'll try and update at least once a week during the month of August. - footprints of Chad, 4:32 PM
