Moving to Washington DC!I just recently found out that I am moving to Washington DC in October! I new was leaving England then but I didn't know where until last Thursday. I will be working at the Pentagon for a DoD agency called DISA (Defense Information Systems Agency). Don't know much more than that right now. But we are looking forward to moving to DC and being near our friend Brent & Maggie. Two other families we know from RAF Croughton also got stationed at or near the Pentagon so we are going to know several people before we even get there which is quite helpful. I have never been to DC so I am really excited just to go there and see it... and to work at the Pentagon... that should be cool... of course I hear it can be quite busy (to put it lightly). At any rate, we are both very excited and looking forward to moving back to the States. - footprints of Chad, 7:11 PM.:

Air TattooJen and I went to the Royal International Air Tattoo yesterday... what a show it was! Planes from all over the globe showing off what they can do. One of the most impressive planes was the Russian Mig 29. One wouldn't think possible the things it could do. Very impressive. The most enjoyable part though is the air acrobat teams. It is ridiculous how close they come to almost hitting each other. It was a great day out and the weather couldn't have been better. On the way home we stopped at one of our favorite pubs, The Trout Inn, and had dinner.

England TravelsMy Mom and my cousin Rachel just left yesterday after being here for two weeks. We traveled all over this area of England while they were here. We visited Stonehenge, Bath, Cadbury World in Birmingham, Stowe Gardens, Waddesdon Manor, Blenheim Palace, Stratford-upon-Avon (Shakespears hometown), Sulgrave Manor (the home of George Washington's ancestors), and London and one day they went to Oxford on there own. While in London we went to Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, road the London Eye, and toured Westminster Abbey. And of course we saw the clock tower that holds Big Ben along with the Parliment buildings, Trafalger Square and the Statue of Lord Nelson and the four Lions (behind scaffolding), Buckingham Palace, St. Pauls Cathedral, The Tower Bridge and took a walk in St. James Park. Needless to say we kept busy. But we also relaxed a few days, went to a couple different pubs, scouted for good deals at boot sales. We had a great time and I am glad they were able to visit. Jen and I only have 3 months left here in England so we won't likely have any more visitors from the states before we go back.Speaking of which... we are due to PCS (permanent change of station) back to the US in October... and we do not know where we are going yet. :( I'll let you know as soon as I know. - footprints of Chad, 4:01 PM .:
